Patna, Dec 14 (UNI) The Bihar assembly today witnessed a heated exchange of words between the treasury bench and Opposition legislators over distribution of fertilizer.

LJP member Maheshwar Singh blamed the government for anomalous distribution of fertilizers and projected a data of supply by the Centre against the demand and subsequent distribution by the state government to the farmers.

He said against the demand of 70,000 tonne, the Centre supplied 1.08 lakh tonne but the state government used only 4000 tonne.

Similarly in Potash, the state distributed only 3000 tonne of the total 60,000 tonne supplied to it against the demand of 45,000 tonne. However, the ruling MLAs rejected this allegation.

Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh, while rejecting the allegation, requested the speaker to call an all party meeting on the matter and ask the LJP member to prove his statement. Mr Singh said he would resign if the allegation was proved.

Later the speaker referred the matter to the question and call attention committee.

During the zero hour, the RJD members shouted anti-government slogans over alleged irrgularities in the BPL list and trooped into the well. They alleged a minister name was found in the PBL list.
