Panaji, Dec 14 (UNI) All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Margaret Alva today said the party will decide about Assembly elections in Goa, which are due in June 2007, only after consulting members of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee, Block Committees and District Committees.

Ms Alva, who was on a two-day visit to the state to review the election preparedness in various constituencies, held deliberations with Block Congress Committees and also took stock of the works initiated by the Congress ministers.

Assembly elections are due in five states - Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Manipur, Tripura and Uttranchal early next year.

Ms Alva said no one will be on priority list for Assembly tickets in the forthcoming election.

Ms Alva said she will meet coalition partners Deputy Chief Minister Wilfred D'Souza (NCP), PWD Minister Sudhin Dhavalikar (MGP) and Water Resources Minister Filip Neri Rodriguese (Independent) later tonight and will ask them about their views and report to the high command.

She said former Goa Assembly Speaker Sheikh Hassan Haroon and former Industries Minister Suresh Parulekar were readmitted in the Congress party.
