Tokyo, Dec 14 (UNI) Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) President R Seshasayee today announced the reopening of the apex chamber's office in Tokyo.

He also said Japan would be back as the "Partner Country" at CII's next Engineering and Technology Fair (IETF) in February, 2007.

He said there would be 100 Japanese companies participating in the fair.

Mr Seshasayee is leading a 27-member CEOs delegation to Japan during Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit to this country.

The delegation held talks with the Keizai Doyukai (Japan Association of Corporate Executives) and the Nippon Keidanren, the premier business federation in Japan.

The meetings were attended by chief executives of the top Japanese companies.

The Japanese side expressed keen interest in investing in the infrastructure sector in India, especially railways, power equipment, manufacturing, information technology and financial services. They were also keen to invest in the special economic zones (SEZs) coming up in India.

The Japanese businessmen felt the scope for doing business with Japan would increase if more Indians knew the Japanese language.
