Bhujbal and Thackeray may settle defamation row out-of-court
Mumbai, Dec 14 (UNI) Senior NCP leader and Maharashtra PWD Minister Chhagan Bhujpal's counsel today informed the Bombay High Court that his client's defamation row with Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray was under consideration for an out-of-Court settlement.
Justice Abhay Oka was hearing a petition from the senior Thackeray, seeking to transfer a defamation case filed against him by Mr Bhujbal, from Nashik to Mumbai on grounds of old age.
Mr Bhujbal had filed the original defamation suit against Mr Thackeray for a speech he made in Nashik in the year 1997, where he had allegedly made some defamatory remarks against the NCP leader.
The same were then published in the Sena mouthpiece 'Saamna,' Subsequently, Mr Bhujbal had filed a defamation suit against the Sena chief and the paper's editor Sanjay Raut and it's printer-publisher Subhash Desai.
