Banking services affected in Bihar
Patna, Dec 14 (UNI) Banking services in Bihar were paralysed today following the Left trade unions-sponsored 24-hour nationwide strike to protest the UPA government's industrial policies.
All trains en route to West Bengal passing through Bihar were regulated at different stations, official sources said.
Life, however, remained unaffected as local trains and road transport services plied as usual.
East Central Railway(ECR) CPRO A K Chandra said all trains to and from the northeastern region via Bihar maintained the normal schedule, while train services between Delhi and Bihar were also not affected.
West Bengal-bound trains would be allowed to roll down to their destinations in the evening, Mr Chandra added.
General secretary of Bihar Provincial Bank Employees' Association P D Singh claimed that all Bank branches remained closed in the state and in Jharkhand.
