AP House urges Govt to enact special legislation for ryots

Hyderabad, Dec 14 (UNI)The Andhra Pradesh Assembly today recommended to the State Government to take up as a non-official resolution to bring special legislation for protecting the interests of the tenant ryots.

The House had sent to the Government the non-official resolution sought to be moved by the opposition TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu, a communique from State Assembly Secretary K Tuljanand Singh said.

The TDP leader wanted the assembly to consider the non-official resolution which said ''This House recommends to the Government to bring a special legislation for protecting the interests of the tenant ryots, as they are facing several hardships in getting loans, inputs subsidy and compensation, as there is no legality to their tenancies in the state.'' In another non-official resolution, the CPI(M) floor leader Nomula Narasimhaiah wanted the assembly to consider the non-official resolution, which said ''this House recommends to the Government to take all necesary steps, including allocation of needed funds for effective implementation of Jayathi Ghosh Commission recommendations to overcome ongoing crisis in agriculture and to save peasanty, agricultural workers and rural artisans from suicides and sufferings.'' The CPI(M) legislator Thammineni Veerabhadram urged the House to consider the non-oficial resolution which said ''This House recommends to the Government to take urgent steps to appoint an Empowered Commission or Committee to identify the underdeveloped mandals in various districts and formulate special package with needed budgetory support for even-development of the state to overcome regional imbalances and to contain unrest among the people of under-developed regions.'' Another TDP legislator D Narendra Kumar wanted the House to consider the non-official resolution which said ''This House recommends to the Government to introduce 'Crop Insurance' scheme, taking every houshold as a unit, in view of the several hardships being faced by the ryots due to loss of crops on account of frequent natural calamities in the state.''
