The prosecution informed Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) Judge M R Bhatkar that Anjum's further police custody was not required for the purpose of investigation at the moment and requested the court to remand him to judicial custody.

Anjum told the court that he had no complaints against the investigating officers when asked by the Judge.

On a specific oral request from his counsel, the court granted Anjum permission to meet his relatives for 15 minutes on the sidelines of the court.

An accused conspirator in the Bharat Shah case, Anjum's SIM card was used by convicted accused Nazim Rizvi to talk to gangster Chotta Shakeel, who presurised actor Salman Khan to act in the film 'Chori Chori Chupke Chupke'.

Bharat Shah had financed the film at the insistance of Chhota Shakeel, which was produced by Nazim Rizvi in 2000.

Both Bharat Shah and Rizvi were convicted by a special court in 2003 in the case.
