Air-India Express to operate from Bahrain from Jan 1

Dubai, Dec 14 (UNI) Air-India has announced plans to introduce its low-cost Air-India Express service from Bahrain from January 1 next year.

The budget airline is expected to initially operate on the Bahrain-Mumbai route and expand to other India routes currently served from Manama, an airline official said.

The fares for the service will be 20 per cent less than the published fare at the time of travel giving succour to the large number of low-paid workers in the Gulf.

The airline has also decided to phase out First and Business Class services on routes out of Bahrain once the Air-India Express service comes into operation, the official added.
