Woman commits suicide

Puducherry, Dec 13 (UNI) A 20-year-old woman consumed poison and died at the government general hospital last night.

According to police, Lakshmi of Bahour married Gopi of Soriyankuppam about the three months ago. The couple was living in a joint family with Gopi's brothers.

Two weeks ago, the couple shifted to a rented house reportedly under Lakshmi's compulsion.

An unhappy Gopi reportedly consumed poison and fell unconscious.

Unable to bear this, Lakshmi followed suit fearing his death.

While the woman died, Gopi was recovering, police added.

While police have registered a case, Thazildar Soumiya is also investigating since the couple was recently married.
