Vala re-inducted into Modi Government

Gandhinagar, Dec 13 (UNI) Senior BJP leader Vaju Bhai Vala was today sworn in as a Cabinet Minister here in the Narendra Modi-led Gujarat Government.

State Governor Nawal Kishore Sharma administered the oath of office to Mr Vala at 1239 hrs, considered as the 'Vijay Muhurat' by the BJP here.

Vala, who represents Rajkot city in the Assembly holds the record for presenting the state budget for the 11th time in succession. He had quit the ministry a year ago to become the state BJP chief.

He was expected to make a comeback in the cabinet after Mr Purushottom Rupala replaced him as the Gujarat BJP President recently.

He is likely to get the Finance portfolio currently held by Mr Modi.

Talking to mediapersons, Mr Vala said he would not mind whatever portfolio was given to him.

''I am happy that I have been reinducted in the cabinet. This gives me an opportunity to work for the people,'' he added.
