UP experiences coldwave

Lucknow, Dec 13 (UNI) With parts of Uttar Pradesh witnessing a slight plunge in night temperature, weather seems to have made its onset in the state.

Weathermen have accredited the fall in temperature to the snowfall and rainfall at the hills of Uttaranchal.

After showing a rising trend over the last two weeks, the chill is expected to intensify in the coming days with the weathermen forecasting a slight fall in mercury over the coming week. Sultanpur was the coldest at 7 degrees Celsius, which was 2 degrees below normal. Allahabad recorded a temperature of 7.5 degrees Celsius followed by Bareilly 7.8 degrees Celsius.

Weather office has forecast a clear sky with mist or shallow fog in the last 24 hrs.

This is the second day in succession when all important long route trains were delayed due to fog.

According to another report, driver of the Amritsar bound Akal Takt caught cold, following which the train was late for couple of hours.
