Three killed in road mishap

Vijayawada, Dec 13 (UNI) Three persons were killed when a trailer lorry ran over them at Nidamanuru in Krishna district last night.

Police today said the mishap occurred when Sheik Sharif (28), owning a tyre puncture shop on the side of the national highway was carrying out work on a vehicle brought by a lorry cleaner Suresh (23).

The truck on its way to the city hit the two. On hearing a loud noise, Sharif's assistant Sheik John Basha (15) rushed out of the shop and he too was fatally hit.

The lorry sped away after knocking down the trio, police added.
