Tamil Nadu enter the final despite draw with Orissa

Jamshedpur, Dec 13 (UNI) Tamil Nadu entered the final of Cooch Behar trophy (Under-19) by virtue of first innings lead as the match against Orissa ended in a draw on the final day of the semifinal here today.

Tamil Nadu resumed at overnight 227 for nine and were all out for 244 in 89 overs in their first innings to take 22 runs lead.

M Prabhu remained not out on 30.

Medium pacers Alok Chandra Sahoo returned with five-wicket haul giving away 69 runs.

Orissa managed to score 142 for eight in their second knock with the help of half-century by P R Sinha (51).

Rajesh Shethi also contributed 48 runs.

For Tamil Nadu medium pacer K Sriram bagged three wickets off 34 runs.

Brief score : Orissa (1st innings) 222 all out Tamil Nadu (1st innings) 244 all out Orissa (2nd innings) 142 for eight.
