Satyam ties up with Egypt to set up development centre
New Delhi, Dec 13 (UNI) Satyam Computer Services Ltd, leading consulting and information technology services provider, today tied up with the Government of Egypt to set up a global development center (GDC) in Smart Village, Cairo.
The center will accommodate about 300 resources over the next two years to serve as a major technological development and software support facility for Satyam's Middle Eastern customers.
''Egypt is ideal for a sink and source strategy. While the Egyptian engineers' specialised skills can be leveraged for better software delivery to our customers globally, the domestic market would offer ample opportunities for business generation,'' Satyam Chairman B Ramalinga Raju said.
Satyam is on a globalisation spree for the last few months. The company has inaugurated a Guangzhou center in November and recently announced plans of setting up a 2,000-seat global delivery campus in Malaysia, he added.
''The announcement of the global delivery campuses in China, Malaysia and now the 300-seat delivery center in Egypt, is Satyam's commitment to building up an alternate workforce, a multi-country model and a global delivery approach that offer the optimum and most customized business solution to our global customer base,'' Mr Raju said.
Satyam has development centres in the US, UK, UAE, Canada, Hungary, Malaysia, Singapore, India, China, Japan, and Australia.
These centers serve 521 global companies, of which 157 are Fortune Global 500 and Fortune US 500 corporations. Satyam forays into Egypt UNI CS SK RS1330
