Rs 96 crores to be spent for Satra Institution development
Guwahati, Dec 13 (UNI) 'Satra Institutions' in Asom will be developed and preserved at a cost of Rs 96 crores.
The Committee for peservation of Satra Institution in Asom has submitted its first report to Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi here last night.
The committee, headed by Additional Chief Secretary C K Das, has submitted its detailed reports for the preservation and development of these Satras. The committee has covered only 135 Satras in its first report .
Chief Minister has stated that the Satras Institutions has played a vital role in the social life of the state and the state government has given priority for the preservation and development of these institutions.
He has assured that the state government would take up the issue with the Centre on the basis of the Committee's report and implement the report soon.
He has already instructed the state Social Welfare Department to take up the issue for implementation.
