Rapist sent to jail in Nadia

Krishnagar, Dec 13 (UNI) An Additional Sessions Court Judge today sentenced a man to 10 years imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 for raping a ten-year-old girl nearly nine months ago at Gobindapur village in Nadia district.

Ranaghat Fast Track court's Judge Asha Arora after hearing arguments, pronounced the sentence and said failing to realise the fine, the convict will have to undergo another two years prison term.

Grocer Mantu Nandy, 28, of Gobindapur villge ourtraged the modesty of a fourth standard school girl on March 18.
