Police PROs to get training: AP DGP

Hyderabad, Dec 13 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Swaranjeet Sen today said a training programme would be organised for Police PROs to improve their skills.

Participating in a valedictory function of the two-day Police PRO Workshop here, Dr Sen said he had also asked the officials concerned to formulate a course for the PROs to help improve work efficiency and avoid a negative image of the department among the public.

Observing the police needed an effective PR system, the DGP said the PROs were responsible in showcasing the work of the police besides canvassing information to a larger extent from the public.

Stating the Police Department was also implementing the Right To Information (RTI) Act to the best of its ability by providing information to the people, he pointed there were certain matters which could not be shared with the people under this law.

The department was very careful in implementing the new laws, Mr Sen said adding there was also a need to study the nuances while implementing them.
