Penalty for failing to implement reservation policy
New Delhi, Dec 13 (UNI) The National Commission for Scheduled Castes has made a provision of penalty on those institutions and persons who fail to implement the reservation policy in government jobs, the Lok Sabha was informed today.
Minister of State for Personnel Suresh Pachouri said in a written reply that any deliberate flouting of the reservation policy by government employees would amount to misconduct under the Conduct Rules and the delinquent official would be liable for disciplinary action.
A special recruitment drive has already been launched to identify and to fill the backlog in the reserved vacancies for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
As per the information received from various Ministries and Departments upto 12-12-2006, a total of 49,100 backlog reserved vacancies had already been filled, the Minister added.
