NSD to open Resource Centre in Bangalore
Mysore, Dec 13 (UNI) National School of Drama (NSD) Director Prof D R Ankur has said an NSD Resource Centre will be opened in Bangalore to coincide with Karnataka celebrating its golden jubilee year this year.
Speaking at the valedictory function of the week-long national theatre festival ''Bahuroopi 2006 here'' yesterday, he said the Centre was necessary in Karnataka as more NSD graduates were in the State than anywhere else in the country. In its five-year plan, the NSD proposed to open a Vidyalaya in Mysore, he added.
Lauding the State's contribution to theatre, he said the State was in the forefront, producing more than 50 graduates in the field of theatre art every year. It also had the distinction of producing well known theatre personalities.
The festival had been the cynosure of all eyes for the last one week. It had exhibitions of handicrafts, rotti katte, where food particularly from North Karnataka attracted visitors, and valuable medicinal plants of proven value.
