Militant killed by troops in encounter

Imphal, Dec 13 (UNI) A suspected ultra was gunned down by troops in an encounter at Arong Nongmaikhong, Thoubal district in Manipur, last evening, Assam Rifles (AR) sources said today.

The AR jawans shot dead the rebel after being attacked. One M-20 pistol and two live rounds were recovered from the deceased.

However, the identity of the militant is yet to be ascertained.

The AR also nabbed a cadre of Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup in a raid in the same district.
