New Delhi, Dec 13 (UNI) Larsen&Toubro Infotech Ltd, a subsidiary of engineering and construction major Larsen&Toubro Ltd, today signed a definitive agreement to acquire US-based electronic design firm GDA Technologies along with its design Centres in the US and India.

''GDA's electronic design capabilities are a key building block in our roadmap towards creating end-to-end solution delivery capability for our global customer base. Such acquisitions are an integral part of our strategic plan to strengthen our presence in the IT consulting and services space,'' L&T Chairman and Managing Director and L&T Infotech Chairman A M Naik said.

L&T Infotech Chief Executive Vijay Kumar Magapu said the acquisition will help the company to deliver a broad set of chip design and product realisation services to our global customers, thereby complementing its capabilities in the IT services space.

All the three GDA founders will join the L&T Infotech management team, a company statement said.

GDA has over 350 employees in the US and India and over 100 customers in the US, Japan and India. It has expertise in various semiconductor developments from front-end design to physical design for design for deep sub-micron process technologies.
