Karnataka, Andhra open campaign with easy wins

Chennai, Dec 13 (UNI) Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh opened their campaign in the second South Zone junior women's hockey championship with victories over Kerala and host Tamil Nadu respectively here today.

In the first round matches, Karnataka defeated Kerala 2-1 scoring trough Kirthika (15th minute) and Rathamma(18th). Kerala got their goal through Sandhya who converted a penalty corner.

Andhra blanked Tamil Nadu by two goals without reply scoring through Malleswari who converted a penalty corner in the 20th minute and Soundarya who sounded the board in the 43rd minute.
