High Court orders release of 5 PSA detenue

Srinagar, Dec 13: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court today quashed the detention of five persons arrested under Public Safety Act (PSA).

The court after hearing the arguments from both the sides quashed the detention and ordered their release in case they are not involved in any other case.

Security forces and police had arrested Sharief-Din Najar, Waseem Raja, Zahoor Ahmad, Farooq Ahmad Sheikh and Meraj-ud-Din Banday for their alleged involvement in the militancy.

However, the family members of the arrested persons challenged their detention in the court.
