Fake note racket unearthed in K'taka
Mysore, Dec 13 (UNI) The district police have succeeded in busting a counterfeit currency note racket, with the arrest of two persons and confiscation of several equipment used to print the fake notes at Kollegal last evening.
Speaking to newspersons here today, Inspector General of Police (Southern Range) R P Sharma said the arrested were identified as Siddalinga Swamy and Raju C N. A computer, colour copier, printer and other equipment used to print the fake notes, besides a couple of counterfeit notes in Rs 500 denomination were seized.
During interrogation, the duo confessed to the crime and revealed that they had circulated fake notes worth over Rs 15 lakh in the last three years in the State. The police were on the look out for three more accused involved in the case, he said.
The main accused Siddalinga Swamy, working as a village accountant, was now kept under suspension.
