Blackmailing weekly owner, his wife arrested

Hubli, Dec 13 (UNI) Police here arrested a weekly owner and his wife for allegedly blackmailing and demanding money in two cases.

According to police, Rajendra Dharwadkar and his wife Vijaylaxmi Dharwadkar allegedly demanded Rs two lakh from a retired doctor, accusing him of issuing fake physically handicapped certificate to a healthy person. The couple also allegedly threatened one Pratipal Singh of lodging a complaint against his domestic help and demanded money.

Since the couple had obtained anticipatory bail, both were released immediately, police added.
