BJP MLA surrenders in Jharkhand

Dumka, Dec 13 (UNI) BJP Legislator from Godda Manohar Tekriwal today surrendered in a local court here in a case related to an attack on Jharkhand Mukti Morcha president Shibu Soren's election meeting four years back.

According to prosecution, Mr Tekriwal had attempted to disrupt an election meeting of Mr Soren during Parliamentary byelection on May 24, 2002, and fired a few shots in the air.

Four persons along with the BJP MLA were made named accused in the case and were on bail.

The warrant was issued after Mr Tekriwal failed to appear before the court for several hearings.

Mr Tekriwal surrendered in the court of Sub-divisional Judicial Magistrate Shivpal Singh and filed a bail petition, which was accepted by the court.
