BJP demands AP CM resignation on lands issue
Hyderabad, Dec 13 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) Floor leader Kishen Reddy today demanded the resignation of the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy for alleged violation of Land Reforms Act.
Talking to newspersons here, he said the Government should allow to discuss on the issue in Assembly tomorrow. The Government had not acted in a positive manner to discuss the issue in the assembly, as it was the most important subject concerning the violation of law, he alleged.
Mr Reddy said the Chief Minister should immediately resign and pave way for the government to initiate action against him for keeping hundred acres of land for several years by violating the Land Reforms Act.
He alleged that Dr Reddy had encroached 200 acres of forest land which was a non-bailable offence. The Chief Minister 'misused' the watershed management, irrigation and vanasamrakshana funds by providing roads and other facililties in his estate, he alleged.
The BJP leader said the Government should review the Land Reforms Act, Forest Land Act, and Assignment Lands Acts. He demanded the Government to appoint a Commission with constitutional rights to inquire into the assignment lands illegally occupied by the influential persons in the State.
