BHEL product gets international accreditation

Tiruchirapalli, Dec 13 (UNI) "Bhelscan," an advanced flame scanner developed by the Controls and Instrumentation (C&I) group of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) local unit has won international accreditation.

A BHEL press release here today said after a thorough study of Bhelscan, the Canadian Standards Association (CSA), Bangalore, had approved the flame scanner for international certification, namely "certificate of compliance,' recently.

Bhelscan with advanced flame signal processing technology based on the micro-controller technology was subjected to over 60 tests for more than two months in a third party national laboratory.

After witnessing the tests and analysing the results, the CSA had approved the product for certification.

'Bhelscan' is a state-of-the-art flame scanning device used in a thermal power station to ensure the safety of the boiler by monitoring the flames inside the boiler. It also monitors the unburnt fuel deposits in the container to avert bursting of boilers, the release added.
