28-day Master Blaster Challenge to hit airwaves on Dec 16

Vadodara, Dec 13 (UNI) Come December 16, fans of Sachin Tendulkar across the country will start playing ''The Master Blaster Challenge'', a mobile-based contest which would test the participants' knowledge about the star cricketer and his cricketing career.

The 28-day-long event, being organised by a Vadodara-based marketing firm Mobiletracs Media, was virtually set in motion at a pre-launch function held here today to open the registration process for the contest.

Describing it as a unique mobile-based contest involving the master blaster, Mobiletracs Media CEO Snehal Parikh said the idea behind bringing the innovative concept was to allow the fans of Sachin to closely relate with their sports idol in a fun and rewarding process.

Prizes shall be daily, weekly and mega. While daily winners will receive a miniature cricket bat autographed by Tendulkar, there will be four weekly winners for motorcycle and a mega prize of a car, which would be distributed to the winners at a special function to be held in Mumbai in mid-January next year after Tendulkar's return from South Africa tour, Mr Parikh said.

Referring to the contest, he said anyone can enter the contest at any time and through any kind of mobile connection or make after typing SACHIN and sending it to 6161. The contestants would be asked one question with three options daily and the winners would be selected randomly from all correct entries received, he added.

Former Vadodara Ranji player and BCA selection committee member Atul Bedade, who was instrumental in roping in Sachin into the mobile contest, said Tendulkar was approached for his consent to the innovative event some 7 months ago when he was nursing his tennis elbow injury in London.
