Yet another ATM break-in attempt failed

Vadodara, Dec 12 (UNI) Unidentified persons made an abortive attempt to steal cash from an ATM machine of a bank here, police said today.

Police said the miscreants last night vandalised an ATM of State of Bank of Indore located at Chakli Circle in posh Race Course area.

But they failed to broke open the cash box which contained nearly Rs 10 lakh cash.

The incident was reported this morning, after which finger printing experts and sniffer dogs were rushed to the spot. The investigation is on to nab the culprits, who are believed to be behind similar break-in attempts.

This is the sixth such burglary attempt on ATMs to be reported in the city during the last eight days.

Expressing his concern over the continued vandalising of ATMs of different nationalised banks in the city, City Police Commissioner Deepak Swaroop said night patrolling would be further intensified in the vulnerable areas.
