Vehicle theft cases keep on piling in Delhi
New Delhi, Dec 12 (UNI) A total of 8,314 cases of vehicle theft have been registered in the national capital upto November 30 this year compared to 7,793 cases during the corresponding period last year.
As many as 8,862 cases of vehicle theft had been reported last year and 8,873 in 2004, while 2,249 and 2,121 cases were worked out in 2005 and 2004 respectively, union Minister for Home S Regupathy told Parliament.
As many as 1,720 cases had been worked out so far this year.
It was noticed that maximum cases were reported from South Delhi and two-wheelers were the prime targets.
The city police was, however, taking various steps to keep a check on such crime and also solve them expeditiously.
