Two robbers arrested

Mumbai, Dec 12 (UNI) Two robbers involved in a theft of Rs 1.5 lakh, in March this year, have been arrested by the Anti Robbery Cell (ARC) of Mumbai police near Naaz hotel off L B S Marg at Kurla in the eastern suburbs.

ARC officials here today said the duo - Namdeo Adhir Kiran (42) alias Tony alias Doctor and Sachin Singh alias Jijothara (20) - was arrested yesterday.

They were produced before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate S Y Shisode this afternoon, who remanded them to police custody till December 26.

The accused, involved in a robbery at Noor Ahmed Chawl at Kurla on March 1 early this year, were picked up from Naaz hotel where they had gone yesterday to meet their friends, police said.

The case which was first registered with the Kurla police, was later transferred to the ARC, who solved the case.
