Two labourers buried alive in sewer in Punjab

Bathinda, Dec 12 (UNI) Two labourers were killed and a third was seriously injured when a portion of the sewer they were digging caved in on Power House road in the town this evening, police here said.

The three alongwith other workers, were digging the sewer when the accident occured. They were pulled out from under the debris and rushed to the hospital where Vijay Gaikwad and Altaf Hussain were declared brought dead, while the third, identified as Ambika, was admitted with serious injuries.

Rescue workers, assisted by the police, are searching through the debris as there are apprehensions that a few more labourers could be trapped there.

The two deceased were migrant labourers from UP.
