Two electricity officers and a contractor awarded jail term

Agartala, Dec 12 (UNI) Two state electricity department officers and a contractor were given one year rigorous imprisonment and a cash fine for negligence of duty causing death of two child in Tripura's south district.

First Class Judicial Magistrate of Belonia after hearing the case for a long time awarded the punishment to two officials and a contractor for negligence of duty as they left a spot without completion of works leaving livewire on earth and two child came in contact of it and died.

In his ruling, the Magistrate awarded both one year jail term to three persons and cash fine of Rs five thousand each for their crime.
