Truck carrying army uniform seized, three held

Varanasi, Dec 12 (UNI) A truck carrying army uniforms and bearing a fake registration number was seized early today from the Badagaon area here and three persons held in that connection.

Station Officer of Badagaon police station M P Yadav said here the truck, having a fake registeration number, was seized during routine checking early today from the Harahua area under Badagaon police station.

On proper search, the truck was found to be loaded with army uniforms, mobil oil, containers and other army consumables. The driver of the truck, Durga Prasad Yadav, was arrested immediately and on the basis of information provided by him, the police later arrested Anil Shukla and Jai Shri Yadav from the Anai village under the same police station area.

On being interrogated, the arrested trio disclosed that the truck- load was going from neighbouring Allahabad to Siliguri in West Bengal, Mr Yadav added.

Defence authorities have been informed of the matter and further investigations were on.
