Temp above normal at several places in the country

Pune, Dec 12 (UNI) Cold wave conditions prevailed in some parts of Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh and southwest Rajasthan. Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in remaining parts of Uttaranchal and Himachal Pradesh and were below normal in some parts of Saurashtra and Kutch.

They were appreciably to markedly above normal in some parts of Assam and Meghalaya, West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, east Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh and coastal Karnataka and were above normal in some parts of east Uttar Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh Marathwada, Vidarbha, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. They were normal over the rest of the country.

The northeast monsoon has been vigorous in Tamil Nadu.

Heavy rains are likely to occur at many places in Tamil Nadu.

Rain or snow are likely to occur at isolated places in Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a many places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Kerala, Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseema, Karnataka State.

Mainly dry weather prevail over the Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujrat State, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Telangana.
