Hyderabad, Dec 12 (UNI) Telugu Desa Party(TDP) Legislature-wing Deputy Leader N Janardhana Reddy today demanded the 'resignation' of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy in the wake of the latter's reported admission of surrender of 618 acres of excess land.

Talking to newspersons here, he charged the Chief Minister that after enjoing the lands for several years, was now talking about the Land Reforms Act.

Mr Reddy alleged that it was a violation of Land Reforms Act, as the Chief Minister failed to submit the declaration in a specified period under section 18 of the Act which was punishable under section 24 of the Act.

He said ''The Chief Minister should immediately resign to pave way for the District Collector to issue orders for his prosecution.''.

Asked about the excess lands enjoyed by the political leaders, including TDP leaders, he said all were equal before the law. The Government could take action against anyone, he added.
