Select metal prices up on improved industrial demand

Mumbai, Dec 12 (UNI) Select metal prices rose on improved industrial demand as the London Metal Exchange went up slightly, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange today said.

In ferrous category, copper heavy and copper utensils declined by Rs 300 and Rs 200 per quintal on increased offers by stockists.

Brass utensils and aluminium utensils went up by Rs 200 and Rs 100 per quintal on increase of fresh demand.

In non-ferrous category, aluminium ingots hiked by Rs 100 per quintal on improveed demand while zinc slab eased by Rs 400 per quintal on sustained heavy selling pressure.

Nickel cathode fell by Rs five on increase offers by stockists.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 34,600, Copper utensils - Rs 31,600, Brass utensils - Rs 22,800, Brass cuttings - Rs 26,500 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 10,900.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 38,500, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,000, Zinc slab - Rs 23,600, Lead ingots - Rs 8,300, Tin slab - Rs 600 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,820 (per kg).
