SC rejects PIL on publication of obscene pics
New Delhi, Dec 12: The Supreme Court today dismissed a PIL seeking a ban on vulgar and obscene picture and photographs published in the print media.
A Bench comprising Justices AR Lakshmanan and Tarun Chatterjee dismissed the petition holding that it was for the authorities to amend the concerned act suitably to regulate publication of such objectionable photos and pictures in newspapers and magazines.
The petitioner, Ajay Goswami, had sought directions from the apex court to the Central Government and others to ban the usage of such pictures on the grounds that it has an adverse impact on children.
