Nikkei up on weaker yen, Wall St gains

TOKYO, Dec 12 (Reuters) The Nikkei average rose 0.57 percent at the start of trade on Tuesday with investors buying exporters such as Canon Inc. after a fall in the yen against the dollar and gains in U.S. markets.

As of 0001 GMT, the Nikkei was up 93.70 points at 16,621.69. The broader TOPIX index rose 0.39 percent at 1,634.40.
