More areas in Delhi to get Piped Natural Gas
New Delhi, Dec 12 (UNI) As many as 18 government colonies are presently being supplied Piped Natural Gas (PNG) in the national capital, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dinsha Patel told Parliament.
The colonies were Kaka Nagar, Bapa Nagar, Pandara Park, Pandara Road, Lodhi Complex, Lodhi Colony, Sarojini Nagar, Naroji Nagar, Pragati Vihar, Mohammadpur, Asia Village, Kidwai Nagar, Andrews Ganj Extension, Laxi Bai Nagar, Netaji Nagar, R K Puram, (Sectors 1 to 5, 7, 8, 12 and 13), Chanakya Puri and Kali Bari Marg. It was also covering many private colonies such as Mayur Vihar.
As many as six government colonies and seven private ones were expected to get PNG connections this fiscal.
Government colonies proposed to be covered by Indraprastha Gas Ltd with PNG supply this financial year were North West and South West Moti Bagh, Andrews Ganj, Sadiq Nagar and R K Puram Sector 9.
PNG supply would also be made available in Central Public Works Department Colony in Srinivaspuri if permissions were granted by land owning agencies.
Private colonies proposed to be covered this year were Anand Lok, Munirka Delhi Development Authority Flats, Munirka Enclave, Paschim Vihar, Vikas Puri and Rohini Sectors 15 and 18.
Representations from various Resident Welfare Associations were received from time to time by IGL for supply of PNG in different colonies and these were considered depending on technical feasibility and customer response.
Requests from the Airports Authority of India and Rayja Sabha Awas (RWA) had also been received, which was being considered, Mr Patel said in a written reply tabled in Rajya Sabha.
