Mercury dips in MP
Bhopal, Dec 12 (UNI) As a result of rainfall and chilly winds sweeping northern India, cold conditions intensified in Madhya Pradesh with mercury plummeting by two-eight degrees.
Meteorological department spokesperson said mercury dipped by eight notches in Khajuraho and Tikamgarh, six notches in Sagar and Raisen, five notch in Satna, four notch in Jabalpur and two notch in Bhopal.
Ujjain and Guna recorded lowest temperature with mercury plummeting to seven degrees Celsius, while a temperature of 8.5 deg C was recorded in Gwalior, 10.4 deg C in Indore, 11.8 deg C in Bhopal and 13 deg C in Jabalpur.
The department said though no new system has developed, a cloudy sky was witnessed and cold was likely to intensify with the mercury dipping further.
