Journalists to protest on December 14

Chandigarh, Dec 12 (UNI) In response to a call given by the All-India Newspaper Employees Federation, the Confederation of Newspaper and News Agency Employees Organisation, Chandigarh, will organise a car/scooter rally on December 14 here to seek the setting up of a Wage Board for the newspaper industry.

The Tribune Employees Union along with the Chandigarh Punjab Union of Journalists, the Indian Express Employees Union , the Chandigarh Journalist Association, the PTI Employees Union and the UNI Workers Union will participate in the rally, Mr Jagtar Singh Sidhu, Convenor of the Confederation said here today .

This rally will start from The Tribune office at 1000 hours.

The All India Federation at a meeting held in Hyderabad had unanimously passed a resoluton to launch a march to Parliament on December 14 to demand setting up of a Wage Board for the print media industry. The march in New Delhi would begin from the UNI head office.
