Janardhan Reddy withdraws petition against Kumaraswamy in HC

Bangalore, Dec 12 (UNI) The Karnataka High Court today dismissed as withdrawn the writ petition filed by suspended BJP MLC Janardhan Reddy, seeking a direction to the government to entrust the CBI with the probe into the allegations against Chief Minister H D Kumarswamy and two more Ministers.

Division Bench of Justices H L Dattu and Mr Justice Anand Byrareddy dismissed the petition as withdrawn after the petitioner filed a memo, seeking permission to withdraw the petition as another petition filed by him for a similar relief was pending before the Supreme Court, following the apex court's direction in this regard.

The Supreme Court had directed that the petition might be moved to be listed before it after the one before the High Court was withdrawn.

Mr Reddy had alleged on the floor of the Karnataka Legislative Council that the Chief Minister, Home Minister M P Prakash and Forests Minister C Chennigappa had taken a bribe of Rs 150 crore from the mining lobby in Bellary to allow illegal iron ore mining.
