ISRO to launch two small satellites in 2008: Madhavan Nair
Tirupati, Dec 12 (UNI) ISRO is planning to launch two small satellites in 2008, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman G Madhavan Nair said today.
Mr Nair, who was here to participate in the 11th International Workshop on MST Radars at NARL near here, said while one satellite would be used to share data by the developing countries, the other would contribute for the university students studying in India and Russia.
Referring to the Chandrayaan Project, he said the project required two antennas and one 34-meter long antenna would be erected at ECIL in Hyderabad shortly.
The ISRO would launch two PSLVs and two GSLVs within next five years.
On the recent abortive launch of the GSLV, he said a committee, which looked into the failure, had submitted a report with some recommendations.
The new launch was scheduled during the middle of the next year after making the recommendations.
