Hooda complements Doha medal winners

Chandigarh, Dec 12 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today complemented the three women athletes of the state who have clinched medals in their respective events at the on-going Asian Games at Doha.

These players were Geetika Jakhar of Hisar District, who won a Silver Medal in wrestling (63 kg), Shweta Chaudhar of Faridabad district who clinched a Silver in rifle shooting and Krishna Punia hailing from Hisar, who won a Bronze Medal in discus throw.

It may be recalled that the Indian Kabaddi team, which won a Gold Medal at Doha recently included five players from Haryana. The Chief Minister also complimented them for their outstanding performance.

The state government has announced Rs 10 lakh in cash to those winning Gold, Rs seven lakh to the winner of Silver and Rs five lakh to the winner of Bronze in Asian Games.
