Kochi, Dec 12 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today issued notice to the State Government on a petition filed by Anitha Thachankary, wife of IPS officer Tomin J Thachankary, who owned the Riyan Studio which was raided by the Anti-Piracy Cell of the police last week.

The petitioner sought a direction not to harrass her or her employees. She also pleaded to allow her to deliver the manufactured CDs to the respective copywrite owners.

A Division Bench comprising Justice J B Koshy and Justice K Padmanabhan Nair directed Ms thachankary to implead the Inspector- General, Anti-Piracy Cell, Thiruvananthpuram, in the petition.

She contended that though four days had been elapsed since the raid, she was not permitted to resume normal functioning of the unit.

She said the studio was having a large number of work orders from various companies and release of the products were intended to be returned before the festival season. Delay in resuming the business would result in serious losses not only to her but the respective copywrite owners also, Ms Thachankary argued.

The Court posted the case to December 18.

Meanwhile, Mr Justice R Basanth dismissed a petition filed by K P Varghese, Managing Director of Welgate Videos, Thiruvananthapuram, seeking to quash the case filed by the police against him following a raid on his shop on November 30.
