Haryana braces up to face Dec 14 bandh call

Chandigarh, Dec 12 (UNI) The Haryana administration today claimed that it had made adequate arrangements so that Left unions' call for a nationwide bandh on December 14 did not affect normal life in the state.

Talking to reporters here, Chief secretary Prem Prashant said contingency plans had been chalked out to ensure that transport services and supply of power and drinking water was not affected on the day of strike.

Mr Prashant pointed out that most of the demands of the Left unions related to the Central government and the bandh call was not likly to affect the normal life in the state.

He said the Hooda government in the state had accepted most of demands of various departments and he saw no reasonn for the employees to go on strike. However, all contingency plans had been made in this regard.

The strike has been called by NPMO, a platform of 56 different organisations, including seven Central Trade Unions in protest against the 'anti-people' steps of the UPA Govgernment at the Centre.
