Haryana ASI dies in road mishap

Karnal, Dec 12 (UNI) An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of the Haryana police died on the spot while another ASI was seriously injured when their scooter was hit from the rear by a speeding truck near Namaste Chowk on NH-1 last night, police today said.

While ASI Ram Kumar died on the spot, ASI Jagat Singh was admitted in the Civil Hospital there. They were coming to Karnal to attend a marriage when their scooter was hit by a truck. The truck driver along with his vehicle fled from the site.

Both the ASIs were coaches in the Sports Cell of the Haryana Police Academy, Madhuban.
