Patna, Dec 12 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said the state government was ready to hand over the Professor Papiya Ghosh murder case to CBI for investigation.

He told reporters that the government was not against recomending the case to CBI although an investigation by the state police into the case was moving on right track. Instead of making much hue and cry over the killing of Prof Ghosh, the Opposition should point out the shortcomigs in the ongoing investigation, he suggested.

Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been to probe the murder case, he added.

"With the hand over the case to CBI, the ball would be in Centre's court", he remarked.

Earlier following a direction by the chair, Bihar Energy Minister Bijendra Yadav gave a statement on the issue in the state assembly saying the investigation into the killing of Prof Ghosh was going in right direction. The Government, meanwhile, had contacted Central lab in New Delhi for polygraphy test of those arrested in connection with the case.

Mr Yadav said the relatives of Malti Devi, the maid-servant of Prof Ghosh, who also killed in the same crime, were also being interrogated.
